News Piaval chooses Oceanic, the upholstery that saves the seas from plastic
For Piaval, design and respect for the environment are a real commitment.
The company’s constant attention to sustainability and the reduction of environmental impact – which takes the form of the use of clean energy sources and the choice of eco-sustainable production processes and materials – has led to the introduction of the brand-new high-tech coating Oceanic, by Camira Fabrics, made from 100% recycled polyester.
The yarn that composes Oceanic is made from plastic marine waste.
It is the result of the SEAQUAL, project, an important initiative that involves brands from all over the world with the aim of keeping the seas and oceans clean.
Oceanic is a surprisingly contemporary, highly durable textile, available in a versatile colour palette that echoes the shades visible on nature’s shoreline and tough enough for a life not only on the seas but also on the seats it furnishes.
For its extraordinary innovative qualities, Oceanic has just been awarded with Hip Awards, in the GREEN MATERIALS category, promoted by the important american Interior Design Magazine.
Piaval’s real commitment to a circular design that respects the Earth at every stage of its production process continues, to create collections that synthesize the harmony of nature and the power of innovation.
